We chose the lovely month of August for our office Away Day this year. To keep it nice, cosy and local we headed to the Forest of Dean, where we visited Gloucestershire Wildlife Trusts’s Wigpool Reserve and Mitcheldean Meend Marsh . We did some botany practice and enjoyed the little pocket-sized relic wetlands in the northern sector, reflecting on their hydrology, ecology and threats.
Ecology session done and dusted, we stopped for lunch at Beechenhurst Lodge, where the intrepid ones ventured along the Sculpture Trail.
At this point, Thistledown campsite awaited us – and so did barbeque, games and the odd half a shandy … just for the sake of keeping hydrated!
On Tuesday, we visited Westonbirt Arboretum , where we had the opportunity to enjoy a very informative tour by Paul Cody (Attraction Manager) and walk along the new and very impressive treetop walkway.
A great time had by everyone, and the perfect occasion to officially welcome our three new members of staff to the WWT Consulting world!
