World Water Day is marked on the 22nd of March each year. Not only it is a day to celebrate water, but also an opportunity to show commitment to make a difference for the millions of people who suffer from water related issues.
The theme for this year is “Better water, better jobs”, highlighting the essential role that healthy water resources play on creating and supporting sustainable livelihoods around the world.
Water is our most valuable asset, and it’s key to sustainable development. In fact, according to this year’s World Water Development Report from the United Nations, it is estimated that half the world’s workers (1.5 billion people) work on water-related sectors.
