Four staff from the Nanjing Ecological Research Institute of Changshu visited us last week
Last week a team of four staff from the Nanjing Ecological Research Institute of Changshu (NJUecoRICH), a key Chinese partner of WWT Consulting, visited our Slimbridge office. The 4-day staff exchange activity – the first of many planned – solidifies our growing relationship with NJUecoRICH and mutual understanding of each other’s work. Based in Jiangsu Province, NJUecoRICH specialises in wetland restoration, Wetland Park design and wetland treatment systems.
The group spent their first three days learning about our consultancy’s practices and project work through presentations and discussion. They shared similar information about their company and aspirations for future collaboration with WWT Consulting, including their recent application to the Ramsar Convention for Wetland City Accreditation on behalf of the Changshu City government which WWT Consulting assisted. Site visits included a tour of the Slimbridge Wetland Centre, its major visitor facilities and wetland treatment systems. Their final day included a guided walk around the London Wetland Centre to see first-hand one of the world’s most famous urban wetlands.
The exchange allowed us to progress the Memorandum of Understanding between our organisations, and discuss WWT Consulting’s organisation of the upcoming urban wetland conference for World Wetlands Day in Changshu. The group benefited a lot from this visit and were highly impressed with WWT Consulting’s culture and management.
