Interpretation Plan to bring fresh insight and fun to the Country Park
We are delighted to be working with Severn Valley Country Park (SVCP) on a new Interpretation Plan for a visitor centre expansion.
Throughout the day, we gathered ideas and insights from participants from Shropshire Council, Severn Valley Supporters Group, Severn Rivers Trust, Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark, Parish councils, Severn Valley Railway and Buy from Shropshire.
The Visitor Centre resides in a beautiful and historic landscape borne of industrial history. Formerly a sandstone quarry and also a coal mine, the site is pocketed with opportunities to explore its industrial past, including a heritage steam train, managed by Severn Valley Railway, which runs daily, bringing visitors to the Country Park. Now a haven for wildlife, and the source of the River Severn, the site boasts a series of lakes and hides, species-rich grassland and semi-natural ancient woodland that comes alive with bird song and wildflowers each Spring. The Park resides within the Amberley and Malvern Hills Geopark, offering a broad range of stories for visitors to uncover and explore.
We look forward to drawing together these vibrant threads into an enjoyable Interpretation Plan that brings insight, reward and fun for all the visitors to the Country Park.
