Conflict, introduced and invasive species management

Conflict, introduced and invasive species management

Conflict, introduced and invasive species can be a threat to native biodiversity, destroy habitats and impact upon human health. Appropriate management strategies are required to remove them or minimise their impact.

WWT Consulting can advise on the control of introduced bird species and the identification and control of invasive plant species within the UK, such as Canada Goose, Ruddy Duck, Parrot’s Feather, New Zealand Pigmyweed, Curly Waterweed, Nuttall’s Waterweed, Canadian Waterweed, Creeping Water-primrose, Floating Pennywort, Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Balsam and Water Fern. We also offer this advice for international invasive species, such as Water Hyacinth.

Invasive plant species can cause extensive damage to native biodiversity, block drainage channels and reduce navigation. It is important that early identification and management is undertaken before the impacts of invasive species are irreversible. WWT Consulting offers rapid assessment of the problem and provides practical guidance for management.
