WWT Consulting visit Nine Dragon Mouth (Jiulongkou) Wetland
Jiulongkou Wetland, Jianhu, China is an existing wetland area of 650ha where nine rivers converge through an area of reedbed and wet grasslands. The site is located roughly four hours north west of Shanghai and is of cultural and ecological significance for local people of the region. We are partnering with MET Studios Hong Kong and Nanjing University Ecological Research Institute of Changshu to deliver plans for how a 80ha area adjacent to the wetland reserve can be developed.
Matt Simpson and colleagues from our partner organisations visited the wetlands and delivered a successful presentation of our initial vision for the site, including concepts and ideas for expanding visitation, developing a wetland centre and increasing the value of the site for wildlife and people.
