Matt Simpson is currently attending and presenting at the 7th Ecosystem Services Partnership Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica
The conference is a chance for practitioners, educators, policy makers and researchers to come together to share their experiences and project outputs regarding natural resource management, ecosystem service approaches and working with communities.
Project COBRA, which has been a major project for WWT Consulting and our partners over the last three years, has a major presence at the conference as it is one of three key meetings where the findings of the project will be shared with different audiences. We are launching the practitioners’ handbook for how to find and share community owned solutions at this conference and holding training and practical sessions on how to use it. You can download the handbook here. Additionally, press releases prepared collaboratively by members are available for download in English and Spanish.
We will be following this up with an Indigenous Film Festival in Georgetown, Guyana later this month where communities across the Guiana Shield Region of South America will screen their films sharing their community owned solutions to a wider audience. In October we are holding a meeting in Brussels for politicians, policy makers and CSOs to share the policy findings of the project and to help promote action that focuses conservation and development efforts through community owned solutions.
