Sustainable masterplan to be delivered
The aim of the project is to deliver a sustainable and successful masterplan, including a management plan, that focuses on sensitively integrating people and the management needs of the habitats and species and associated visitor centre management requirements.
A feasibility study was carried out to evaluate the biogeographical features of the site to provide information for assessing the feasibility of creating and enhancing the wetland habitat of the Wetland Park. You can read about the trip here.
Government officials from Fujin City, along with other members of the technical group, visited us in the UK in order to discuss design options for the future visitor centre and learn more about about WWT’s wetland conservation work by visiting some other WWT centres: Llanelli, Slimbridge and London Wetland Centre. We then engaged the architect Eleanor Rennie to assist us in providing designs for an innovative viewing tower within the wetlands.
We look forward to the feedback and hope to help take the project forward.
