WWT’s Flight of the Swans has been shortlisted for the Environmental Impact Assessment Awards
We are delighted to announce that WWT’s Flight of the Swans project has been shortlisted for the ENDS Environmental Impact Awards under the “Campaign of the year” category. This category aims to recognise excellence on projects or programmes on environmental communications, with specific attitude-changing goals and that demonstrates innovative thinking, excellent implementation and measurable success.
Flight of the Swans, one of the most exciting and inspiring conservation projects of recent times, was successfully completed last Autumn; Sacha Dench (Head of Media at WWT) flew the entire migration route of the Bewick’s Swan using just a parachute wing strapped to a small propeller engine, in the first attempt to follow this iconic species on its annual migration.
WWT Consulting has the pleasure of being part of this unprecedented initiative by developing a community toolkit to be used by wetland colleagues from eleven countries along the Bewick’s Swan flyway to raise awareness of the conservation issues faced by the species.
We’d like to wish Flight of the Swans every success and look forward to hearing about the award results.
