WWT Consulting surveys for wetland creation in Ireland
Dave, Robbie and Bea have just returned from a field trip to Camphire (Co Waterford, Ireland), where they have undertaken topographic and soil surveys to inform detailed designs for wetland creation and enhancement.
Following on from a previous WWT Consulting project to assess the potential to increase the biodiversity of the area, we were employed again this year to undertake physical surveys of the site and provide detailed designs for the proposed habitat features.
The site regularly registers numbers of national importance of wintering Whooper Swans, and its value as a foraging area for the species has long been recognized.
We look forward to translating the gathered data into a report and, of course, to seeing the new wetland habitat become a reality.
