New publication from Ramsar promotes sustainable wetland tourism
A new Ramsar publication, produced with the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and forming one of the outputs from the Year of Sustainable Tourism, was launched at the 11th meeting of the contracting parties (COP11) in Bucharest in July. It promotes engagement with wetland habitats and wildlife.
One of WWT’s key aims since its establishment in 1949 by Sir Peter Scott has been to promote active engagement with wildlife to foster an interest in it and thus its protection. Peter Scott was a keynote speaker at the inception of Ramsar in 1971 and, we’re sure, would be proud to know that we continue this aim today. WWT Consulting offers expertise in sensitively integrating people and wildlife – sustainable tourism – to clients worldwide. See our project case studies for examples or contact us to find out more.
