A team of four have been in China, looking at the FuJin National Wetland Park
Working for Wetlands International, last week Rebecca, Ian, Bea and James travelled to FuJin in the north west of China to assess the FuJin National Wetland Park. The aim of the project is to deliver a sustainable masterplan and wetland management plan for the park, integrating the needs of visitors with those of the species and habitats.
The site assessment last week included ecological surveys of the habitats and species present as well as a review of the existing visitor facilities and the options for development. Part of the site will be developed as a hotel to provide residential access to this remote area for wildlife watching and educational visits.
The team will now engage with an architect to provide visuals of some of the suggestions made on site and the management plan will be developed over the next few weeks.
