WWT Consulting deliver Interpretation Action Plan for winning Heritage Lottery Fund bid
In October 2017 WWT Consulting began work on a costed and deliverable Interpretation Action Plan for the Our Picturesque Landscape Partnership Scheme, which integrated the vision for both the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site and the southern area of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The finished Plan formed part of the Partnership’s Stage 2 application to the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Landscape Partnership Scheme.
The Plan took as its themes the feats of engineering thathave transformed the landscape, the artists who were inspired to depict it in paintings and poetry, and the tourists that have flocked to the area since the 18th century. Character-led and creative interpretive interventions were proposed at key sites across the landscape, as well as recommendations for nearby gateway towns.
We are excited to announce the Plan has contributed to the success of the Landscape Partnership project bid, which has won a share in almost £5.5million National Lottery investment for Wales.
