WWT Consulting to design and build pond-dipping platform for RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond
We are delighted to announce our contract with the RSPB to design and build pond-dipping facilities at RSPB Scotland Loch Lomond. Earlier this year, Beth Môrafon and James Darke visited the wetlands on site to undertake a site investigation, collect physical and ecological data and discuss the project aspirations with our Client. In consultation with the RSPB, we have developed concept and detailed designs, for which we have now submitted a planning application. Designs include a shelter, dipping platform, interpretation and rain chain features alongside bespoke soft rush, dragonfly and frog lifecycle sculptural features.
The pond-dipping facilities will provide a welcome addition to this RSPB Scotland flagship site, located on the southeast shores of Loch Lomond. The reserve is one of the best areas for wildlife in Scotland. It features a remarkable mix of habitats: woodland and grassland, rich floodplains, swampy mires and fens, all of which provide food and shelter for a wide range of species.
We very much look forward to the next stages of this exciting project.
