Architecture is an important part of developing a new visitor facility and the design of the final building can have huge implications on the successful operation of that facility.
WWT Consulting seeks to pull together a project team early in the masterplanning process, including an architect either chosen by the client, or recommended by us. This allows us to use our experience of designing and operating visitor centres to guide the initial decisions about position, scale, massing, visitor flow, accommodation schedules and use of green materials and technologies.
WWT Consulting also provides these skills to architects' teams, where we can advise on feasibility of building within or close to existing sensitive habitats and offer design solutions for creating wetland habitats, treatment systems and specialist buildings, such as hides, to ensure there is sensitive integration of wildlife and visitors.
