Interpretation

Interpretation, in this context, is all about communicating messages about our cultural and natural heritage in engaging and inspirational ways. There are a number of different methods and approaches that can be used, from simple graphic panels to fully immersive experiences.

Whether it is a new experience or an interpretation space that already exists, WWT Consulting works within the constraints of the site and the budget to create exciting educational experiences. Developing interpretation can be costly and complex and, therefore, a clear strategy for delivery with well defined messages is essential. WWT Consulting offers its clients a range of services, from masterplanning and innovative design through to overseeing fabrication and site supervision.

When undertaking interpretation planning as part of a masterplan for a new development, WWT Consulting believes stakeholders should be considered throughout the project, to develop a visitor experience to cater for everyone. Stakeholder consultation can help to inform messages to be told and the methods to be used, whilst creating a sense of ownership of the project within the local community. WWT Consulting develops interpretation in conjunction with habitat, landscape and building designs to ensure that all messages are delivered.

WWT Consulting can audit existing interpretation as a precursor to updating an organisation's interpretation policy and assist in developing engaging learning programmes, tailored for all audiences, to complement static interpretation.
