Key message 10 is: 'Healthy wetlands mean healthy people and sustainable livelihoods'

Of course, so much of Ramsar's mission relates to what we do, but this tenth monthly message, in a year where Ramsar celebrates its 40th anniversary and aims to engage people with a differrent, important, wetland issue each month, is absolutely key to what we believe and how we deliver our projects.

As was reported recently, we are embarking on a community livelihood project in the Guiana Shield area of South America, and many of our previous projects have delivered wetland management plans and wetland treatment systems to improve wetland habitats for the benefit of people as well as wildlife.
