WWT Consulting worked with WWT, WWF and local government partners to investigate That Luang Marsh and develop a management system which can maximise ecosystem functions for the benefit of people and the environment. The project has:
- Improved urban planning to avoid detrimental impacts on important wetland ecosystem functioning
- Developed a management plan for all wetland ecosystem services and resources That Luang Marsh provides
- Designed constructed wetland treatment systems to treat current and potential wastewater inputs to the marsh
- Constructed small scale wetland treatment systems to treat industrial and domestic wastewater
