2009
WWT Consulting undertook terrestrial invertebrate surveys on brownfield land on the site of an old bus depot in Plymouth, Devon. Entomological hotspots were identified and species lists generated reflecting the different habitat zones identified. Specimens were collected using a combination of sweeping, beating and direct searching. In addition, mercury vapour moth traps were run over night. Species were identified both in situ and from specimens identified at WWT Consulting's laboratory facility.
The potential value of the site was evaluated in accordance with the client’s ecological assessment protocol for the site, following assessment criteria based on Highways Agency standards. The report included species lists, a review of biological record centre data for the site and included a map showing locations of hotspots and key species.
