WWT Consulting developed a Masterplan followed by concept habitat designs, architectural vision, interpretation and business plan for the 30ha site.
The proposed East Kolkata Wetland Park (EKWP) included a 2,000 sqm visitor centre, outdoor trails and environmental education and interpretation. WWT Consulting also looked at eco-tourism opportuniteis within an additional 1,200ha area surrounding the designated EKWP site.
Stakeholder liaison and audience/ access assessment aimed to ensure that the EKWP would engage local communities, schools, and national and international tourists, raising awareness of the need to protect and conserve wetlands.
